Chelsea & Spurs Premier League fixtures 2016/2017
After playing in England’s 1-1 Euro 2016 draw with Russia last Saturday evening, Spurs full back Danny Rose came out with some interesting comments on Chelsea.
Infamously, Tottenham’s Premier League title challenge was ended at Stamford Bridge in early May when the Blues held Spurs to a 2-2 draw.
Chelsea’s fans and players were very public in their desire to prevent Spurs from winning the league and Eden Hazard’s late equaliser confirmed that the Premier League title would be heading to Leicester.
“The first fixture we’re looking at next season”
Rose said: “I have said sorry on behalf of Spurs for what happened in the game but, strangely enough, I wouldn’t change anything – apart from the result. To feel the hatred from the Chelsea players and fans was amazing. I just wish I could change the result and the amount of bookings in the game.”
The Spurs and England left back also said: “I would have loved to have won but how we fought for each other … we’ve shown we’re not a pushover. That is why I play football, games like that. To feel the hatred from the Chelsea fans and their players beforehand. It was amazing. That’s now the first fixture we’re looking at next season: Chelsea at home and Chelsea away.”The next Battle of the Bridge will be in November
With Antonio Conte in charge of Chelsea next season, the next Battle of the Bridge will be in late November.
