Arsenal sign Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for club record £56m

Arsenal have signed Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund in a club record £56m deal.
The Gunners had two bids for the 28-year-old rejected by Dortmund before agreeing a fee that eclipses the £46.5m July purchase of Alexandre Lacazette. Dortmund would only sell after finding a replacement, with Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi to join on loan.

Chelsea Sign Giroud From Arsenal

Chelsea have completed the signing of Olivier Giroud from Arsenal for £16 million.

The deal was completed shortly after Aubameyang signed for Arsenal, and Batshuayi joining Dortmund on loan.

Giroud will hook up with Chelsea for the next 18 months, with an option to extend by a year.
The triangle of transfers between all three clubs depended on the other going through.

Dortmund wanted Batshuayi as replacement for Aubameyang, but Chelsea’s failure to get Dzeko, turned to their attention to Giroud.

And Arsenal were not keen on letting the France international leave, only if they would get the Gabon forward.

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has admitted their season is in danger of falling apart.

Mourinho says they have “lots of problems”, after missing the chance to make up ground on leaders Manchester City.
