MoD could nuke Channel Tunnel if Brexit goes horribly wrong

Secret plans have been drawn up by the Ministry of Defence to blow up the Channel Tunnel in a bid to cut ties with Europe.

France would not be told of the plans which have labelled the destruction of Calais and Kent as collateral damage.

As plans for Brexit are drawn up after the triggering of Article 50 comments of European war have already begun.
Michael Howard apparently advocated a war with Spain over defending Gibraltar on Sunday.
Civil servants have plans, that were once top secret, to use an atomic weapon as the only effective means of dividing us from the continental mainland.
The plans, unearthed in the archive at Kew, were devised in March 1969 in case of Soviet invasion.
In it Government workers wrote: ‘For overt preparations to be made to destroy our only link with France and the remainder of the Continent, when the UK is endeavouring to become a member of the Common Market and to convince continental Europe that we have shed forever our island mindedness?’

Ministry of Defence official, Michael Legge, is exposed in the Independent, as saying in 1974: ‘The tunnel would be virtually unscathed by an explosion of very great magnitude’.But that ‘total collapse’ could be assured with an atomic weapon.

The concern appeared to be that the United Kingdom was protected by a natural moat, the English Channel, and any attempt to maintain open borders at a time of Soviet invasion could be devastating.
The Tunnel, affectionately known as the Channel, had caused outrage as early as the 1920s before it was even built.
