Italian press tip an ex-Man City boss to become the new England manager

Who will be the next England manager?

What a complete shambles.
English football is once again in disarray, just a few months after the Three Lions were embarrassed on the pitch by Iceland at Euro 2016.

After just 67 days in the job, Sam Allardyce has been forced leave his post as England manager after a successful sting operation by the Telegraph.
Gareth Southgate has been appointed as the temporary England boss until the end of the year.
But who will be the long term replacement?

While the likes of Alan Pardew, Steve Bruce and Eddie Howe are some of the names linked to the job in the English press, over in Italy another name is being tabled.

Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is believed to be in the running for the position.
Mancini, 51, knows English football well from both his time as a player with Leicester City, as well as his time as the boss of the Sky Blues from 2009 to 2013.
Mancini won the Premier League and the FA Cup during his time as Man City boss.

The story has appeared in both La Stampa and Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday morning. For the record, Mancini recently left Inter Milan back in August.
