Retired Joseph Yobo set to feature for Premier League side

– Former Super Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo is set to feature for Kano Pillars
– The former Everton defender retired in June 2014
– Several NPFL clubs are scrambling to get the signature of the star

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Kano Pillars have confirmed that former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo will play for them as this season in the Nigeria’s top flight is gradually coming to an end.

Joseph Yobo who began his football career with Michelin FC of Port Harcourt will was recently signed as a League Ambassador by the League Management Company who are currently steering the Nigerian Professional Football League.
Kano Pillars’ former international defender will play for the Sai Masugida to emulate former Nigerian international Sani Kaita also featured for FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the NPFL.

“Yes, I can confirm to you that Joseph Yobo will play for us and I think it is a great improvement for our League considering the level of his experience.
“Yobo is a man that everybody will want to watch even though he has retired in the national team, but we will make life comfortable for him in Kano.
“He is currently talking with my other officials as I am talking to you now, and he is happy that he will play for us,”

Recall that Yobo wrapped-up his footballing career in style with a Testimonial Match at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium in Port Harcourt on May 27, 2016.
