‘Killing Of Three Soldiers‎ In Bayelsa, Disheartening’

The Chairman of Brass Local Government Council, Hon. Bello Bina, has condemned in strong terms the killing of three military personnel at Ogbolomabiri in Nembe Local Government Area by unknown gunmen, describing it as totally unwarranted and disheartening.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Yenagoa through his Chief Press Secretary, Saint Mienpamo, the Council Boss stated that such malicious acts are only painting the state and indeed the region in a bad light.
He further stated that progress and development do not thrive in an atmosphere of violence and lawlessness, but in an environment of peace and lawfulness, and advised youths to shun crime and criminality.
According to the Chairman, “It is wicked for anybody to attack soldiers that are risking their lives to protect us. Such attacks are only sending a wrong signal to the rest of the world, because they will continue to perceive us as a violent people. Of course you and I know the implication of this.

“It is very difficult to see progress in a nation that is plagued with violence. Only peaceful nations make progress. So our youths must recognize this fact and refrain from violence,” he said.
Hon. Bina also warned youths in Brass LGA to be law-abiding, reiterating that he has directed security personnel to be in top gear with a view to bringing criminals to book.
