Japan Pledges 30Bn Dollars To Africa

The Japan Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe has told African leaders that his country will commit 30 billion Dollars into public and private support, for infrastructure development on the continent.

He explained that the package would be spread over three years from this year, which includes 10 billion Dollars for infrastructure projects on the continent, to be executed through cooperation with the African Development Bank (ADB).

Mr. Abe made this known at the Kenyan capital Nairobi, where he is attending the sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD),
The 30 billion Dollars announced, is in addition to 32 billion Dollars that Japan pledged to Africa over a five-year period at the last TICAD meeting in 2013
