Briton charged with trafficking cocaine in Kenya bailed

A British national charged with trafficking nearly 100kg of cocaine has been released on bail by a Kenyan court.
Jack Alexander Wolf Marrian is to be released on a bond of £530,000, with two Kenyan sureties of similar amount.
A magistrate ruled that the prosecution did not provide compelling reasons for Marrian to be detained pending determination of his case.

The prosecution argued that he was a flight risk and that he would interfere with investigations.
It has been reported that Marian is the grandson of the sixth Earl Cawdor.
Marrian was arrested after Kenyan police and US Drug Enforcement Administration agents impounded the drugs on July 27 at Kenya's main seaport in a container allegedly carrying sugar to Uganda from Brazil.
