Wanda Nara confirms that Mauro Icardi will leave Inter, Atletico most likely destination

Wanda Nara confirms Mauro will leave Inter Milan
Mauro Icardi looks set to leave Inter Milan

On Sunday, a slew of reports have emerged that confirm Mauro Icardi is very unlikely to be an Inter Milan player next season.

The 23-year-old scored 16 Serie A goals for Inter in 2015/2016 and 22 in the campaign before to confirm his talent as one of the best strikers in Italy.
On Sunday morning, Wanda Nara, the wife and agent of Mauro, posted a simple Tweet that simply said: #calciomercato.
Translated into English, this simply means “Transfer Market” and it is safe to say that Mauro Icardi is now very much available to the biggest teams in Europe.
“Inter have put Icardi up for sale”

This was confirmed a few hours later when Nara spoke with Calciomercato.com, an Italian website who specialise in transfer news.

Nara said: “From what I can see, Inter have put Icardi up for sale. There are many clubs interested. We will evaluate the situation with all due respect to everyone. Mauro would be very sad to leave Inter, but we’ve understood the club’s economic situation and evidently they cannot hold Icardi back. There is no release clause in his contract and we hope Inter won’t ask for a sum that is outside the market value, but rather suited to his contract.”
Icardi and Nara believe that he is entitled to a new contract, just one year after agreeing an extension.

A slew of Europe’s major clubs have been linked with Icardi, including PSG, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid.
Calciomercato.com claim that Inter have offers exceeding 40 million euros for the Argentine striker and the striker either wants a deal on better terms or to leave the club.

Icardi wants to play for Simeone

Despite claims earlier this summer that Tottenham had bid for Icardi, Spanish paper AS believe Atletico Madrid are in pole position.
Ateltico Madrid have already presented Icardi with their contract offer and personal terms, and he has been in talks with coach Diego Simeone.

Icardi is keen to join up with Simeone, who he believes is one of the best coaches in the world.
Wanda Nara will meet with Atletico Madrid representatives this week in Ibiza, to advance the transfer of her husband.
