Muqtada al-Sadr’s comments come after US Defence Secretary Ash Carter confirmed Washington will commit a further 560 troops to Iraq help its government forces reclaim Mosul from the clutches of the depraved death-cult.
During a visit to Baghdad, Mr Carter said: “These additional US forces will bring unique capabilities to the campaign and provide critical enabler support to Iraqi forces at a key moment in the fight.”
Al-Sadr, an Iraqi Shi’ite Muslim, responded to the US Defence Secretary on his official site after a follower asked for his reaction.
The cleric confirmed in Arabic “they [the US troops] are a target for us”.
It even appears al-Sadr is willing to put the hostility between Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims to one side and join forces against the US as the greater common enemy.

American troops have primarily been deployed to Iraq to help government forces in the fight against ISIS.The warmongering terror group has suffered heavy loses since the US-led coalition launched its campaign against the cell, losing as much as a quarter of their land.
