Leicester City ace set for Arsenal move

The exit door may have to be left open for Leicester City, as Riyad Mahrez is set to join N'Golo Kante in leaving the Foxes for a move to the capital.

PFA Player of the Year Mahrez was one of the stars of the Foxes fairytale season which saw them defy the odds to lift the Premier League trophy, and as such has been linked with a big money move away from the King Power Stadium. Eurosport France report that Mahrez has decided on a move to Arsenal, with the transfer set to take place imminently.

The Algerian will likely cost somewhere in the region of €48 million and will be the second high profile signing of the summer for Arsene Wenger's side, after the arrival of Swiss international Granit Xhaka from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Mahrez’s agent, Kamel Bengougam, was present at the Gunners’ pre-season friendly draw against Lens on Friday evening but refused to comment on the story.

Although top scorer Jamie Vardy had previously rejected Arsenal this summer, midfield lynchpin Kante recently completed a move to Chelsea.

The former Le Havre winger has made 90 appearances in all competitions for Leicester since arriving in January 2014, scoring 25 goals.
