Cristiano Ronaldo suffers partly torn ACL, could be injured for four or five months [MM]

Cristiano Ronaldo injury vs France, Euro 2016 final, July 2016

First diagnosis

It will be a few days before Cristiano Ronaldo focuses on his injury issues. Right now the Portugal attacker is enjoying the greatest moment in his country’s footballing history. That would make it the greatest moment of his illustrious career too. Even if he did spend most of it on the sidelines, proudly acting as head cheerleader for Portugal boss Fernando Santos. An iconic captain’s performance.

But he will have to address the injury that ended his final prematurely.
Managing Madrid report that the Real Madrid forward has suffered a partly torn ACL. The initial medical reports by doctors in France estimate that he could be sidelined for four or five months.

What Ronaldo will miss

If this report turns out to be true then he’ll miss the UEFA Super Cup clash with Sevilla on August 9th. He’ll miss the first few La Liga games. He could also miss the first group matches of Madrid’s Champions League defence.

Ronaldo scored the winning penalty in their shoot-out victory over Atletico Madrid in May.

He was the top scorer of last year’s competition with 16 goals.
