Cristiano Ronaldo confirms to his new Real Madrid contract is in the pipeline [Lusa Quotes]

Ronaldo wants new Madrid deal
Still enjoying his post-Euro 2016 holidays, Cristiano Ronaldo has given Real Madrid fans some very positive news.

For the past two years, there’s been endless speculation surrounding Ronaldo’s future; with his current deal running to 2018, the Spanish press are increasingly curious as to whether he’ll continue beyond that date, or go somewhere else.

Indeed, Ronaldo has been almost deliberately coy about his future whenever asked last season.
A move to MLS has been suggested, but lately Ronaldo has been making noises about wanting to stay at the Bernabeu longer, and he essentially confirmed it to Portuguese agency Lusa today.
Already speaking to Perez
Now 31, Ronaldo will be 33 by the time the current deal runs out, but he clearly believes he’ll still have what it takes to compete at the top by that point, as he’s confirmed that he wants a new contract.

Ronaldo says that the new deal has already been briefly discussed with club president Florentino Perez, and that they’ll get to thrashing out the deal once he gets back to Madrid:
‘I spoke to the president on the phone and when I get to Madrid, we will talk about it.
“Obviously it’s something I want, I have mentioned it many times, and the club also wants it. But we only spoke briefly, and there will be more concrete things to come.”
I am completely ruled out for the ninth [August] because my return date is the 10th, there is no chance.”
