Last Friday night, news broke that Arsenal had triggered the release clause in Jamie Vardy’s contract at Leicester.
For much of last weekend, it looked very likely that Vardy would be signing for Arsenal, with suggestions of a medical at The Emirates on Sunday and perhaps an unveiling before the England squad left for Euro 2016 in France.
This was followed by reports that Vardy would be making his decision on Monday, before England left for France.
Vardy instead decided to leave the decision over whether to join Arsenal until after the Euros so he can concentrate on his football for England at his first ever international tournament.
What now seems likely is that Vardy’s will he/won’t he decision will cast a shadow over his Euro 2016 campaign.
Rebekah Vardy on Good Morning Britain
On Friday morning, Rebekah Vardy, Jamie’s wife, appeared on Good Morning Britain.
Famous Arsenal fan Piers Morgan was not there to quiz Rebekah Vardy but Ben Shepherd did ask the question all Gooners and fans of Leicester are wondering about.
Rebekah Vardy played a straight bat and it certainly does seem that Jamie has not made a decision yet.
And, as of this morning, the Vardys are not shopping for houses in north London…
