Jan Aage Fjortoft has posted some huge news on his Twitter timeline on Thursday morning.
The Norwegian is a well-known figure in England after his periods at Swindon Town, Middlesbrough and Sheffield United in his heyday.
Since hanging up his boots, Fjortoft has remained heavily involved in football, while he’s also known for having good sources in the German football scene too.
With all that said, Fjortoft has today announced some huge news claiming that Manchester United are hoping to beat Arsenal to the signing of Borussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Mkhitaryan on his way out of BVB
27-year-old Armenian star Mkhitaryan could be available for a cut-price fee this summer given that he only has one year left on his current Dortmund contract.
Borussia have tried to lock down the playmaker to a new deal, but Mkhitaryan has baulked, refusing to agree any extension that doesn’t include a release clause.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the midfielder in recent times, but now it’s Man United who could be leading the charge.
In ridiculous stats, Mkhitaryan was involved in 38 Dortmund goals last season. He’s scored 20 times, while he chalked up 18 assists. That’s a phenomenal return.
So is Jan Aage Fjortoft ahead of the curve?
Will Mkhitaryan move to Man United?
