We now know that Jamie Vardy will only make his decision on whether to join Arsenal at the end of the Euros.
As has been well documented in recent days, Arsenal have met Vary’s release clause in his current Leicester contract.
It’s now up to the striker to decide whether he wants to leave the 2015-16 Premier League champions to join the runners-up instead.
At the same time, Vardy’s move to the Gunners could have a significant ripple effect, particularly for Fleetwood Town.
Vardy’s former club are set for a significant windfall should the transfer complete.
According to reports, Fleetwood Town are entitled to 25% of the Vardy to Arsenal deal.
That means Fleetwood will collect £5m, leaving Leicester with just £15m.
Fleetwood finished the 2015-16 season in 19th place in League One.
Fleetwood Town’s chairman speaks to the BBC
Fleetwood Town chairman Andy Pilley has spoken to the BBC about the potential deal.
Pilley has gone into detail about how the Vardy transfer could set a great precedent for non-league football clubs.
