Paris terror attacks: Chilling Jewish supermarket CCTV images show hostages forced to remove security cameras.
The pictures show terrified hostages huddled together in the supermarket, that had been seized by Amedy Coulibaly,These images show for the first time what it was like INSIDE the Jewish supermarket where a terrorist gunman killed four people. Amedy Coulibaly took 19 hostages as police laid siege to the Hyper Cacher in Porte de Vincennes, Paris. In this series of pictures you can see the inside of the small store, as hostages huddle together as the armed gunman appears to be wearing a bullet proof vest.
The siege lasted several hours before heavily armed police raided the building, killing the 32-year-old shooter in the process. The camera stills show various shelved items spilled onto the floor, and in one shot an empty children's pushchair is left in the middle of an aisle.A six-month-old baby was among the hostages Coulibaly had taken with the help of his two AK47 rifles.
Clips from the cameras appear to show the hostages removing a number of the security cameras, most likely at the gunman's instruction. The footage was saved though as it was stored remotely. In one shot a hostage can be seen disabling a camera while stood on a stool in the supermarket isle, while another appears to be at the top of a ladder in a storage room.Unknown to Coulibaly, 30 other shoppers cowered together in a shop freezer elsewhere in the building.
Petrified that they would be discovered and hauled out and executed, they shivered in silence for five hours.Schools, supermarkets, synagogues and kosher restaurants in the eastern area of Paris were in lock-down as it was swamped by police and emergency services to deal with the crisis.
At the same time a second hostage situation was taking place at a print works in Dammartin-en-Goele, north-east of the capital.
